Today, as we hear about Christ's baptism, let's take some time to remember our own. Not the event itself, as most of us were too young to remember; but the effect it has on us. Through baptism, we are freed from the stain of Original Sin and born into the family of Christ, the Church: which includes the gift of Salvation, the grace to receive it, and, when fully celebrated with Confirmation, the expectations of a Christian. The phrase “With great power, comes great responsibility” comes to mind. So, whether it’s growing in knowing, loving, or serving Christ, let us all take this opportunity to fulfill our baptismal   responsibilities asked of us!
