Growing up, kids are taught a lot about the importance of school, making good choices, and how to be responsible for themselves. But they are also need to be taught about their faith and the importance of living in a way that would bring them closer to Christ. Learning about Christ from an early age can help instill faith for the rest of a child's life. Faith in Christ is an amazing way to not only give them strength to get through hard times, but it can also lead a sense of community with those who also believe the same. Personally, my faith has led me to make a lot of amazing friends, make wonderful memories, and has gotten me through some of the hardest times in my life. Just as children are required to attend school whether public, parochial or homeschool, children need to be educated in their faith. Parents are the primary educators, so praying together and talking about faith at home, going to Mass, and participating in the Sacraments are important, as well as getting religious education either through our parish classes or in Catholic school. Sacramental prep for First Reconciliation and First Communion, as well as Confirmation for teens, is a part of our Religious Education program at St. Pius X. Now is the time to register. Even if your child attends Catholic school, they need to register for sacramental prep. Registration is on our website: www.crpiusx.org/religioused. Thanks to everyone who participated in our Golf Outing this year, the program fees have been reduced to $25 per student for Religious Ed, First Sacraments, and Confirmation. And if you are interested in teaching and making an impact on our youth, we are still looking for catechists for 4th grade and 7th grade and hall monitors. Those who teach will get their child's Religious Education for free.
