This weekend we have our parish elections for our pastoral council and grade school board of education. I am delighted by so many great people willing to serve  It is a positive sign of what the Holy Spirit is doing in our midst.
 
The board of education guides the policies and direction of our excellent St. Pius X School. The pastoral council works with me to set the vision for our parish. Our lay leaders are co-responsible for major decisions on how we implement our new mission statement:  Together we know, love, and serve Christ.
 
I highly value input in making decisions about our life together.  Our staff and I are moving away from doing ministry for people to doing ministry with people.  This means less control on our part, and more involvement on the part of parishioners.  Let's keep it going and growing.
