A shout out to Karissa Forde and her team who pulled off a very fun parish picnic last Sunday. Our parish is full of great people!
You may notice that we recently put in a new Reconciliation room in a storage room on the St. Joseph side of the church. The reason is that Fr. Gary Mayer and I celebrate Reconciliation with all of our St. Pius X school kids twice a year after school Masses. I do not hear lots of mortal sins from them. Or maybe all the bad kids go to Fr. Gary! But we do want to get them used to going to confession
early in life, with the hope that the experience of God's mercy stays with them the rest of their lives.
Now we have two confessionals with the option of both face to face or using a screen. This is helpful not only for our students, but for the metro communal Reconciliation liturgies when St. Pius X hosts it. Many thanks to Jeff Frieden and Steve Hagarty for donating all of the labor and materials for this project.
