Since starting here just about two and half months ago a lot has happened! New schedules, youth events, classes, meetings, and getting the opportunity to meet many wonderful people along the way. Thank you to everyone who has made it such a wonderful beginning to my time here at St. Pius X!
In the Gospel this weekend Jesus tells the people a parable about a fig tree that has not produced fruit in several years. The gardener wants to cut it down, but Jesus says to let him cultivate it that it might bear fruit. This made me think of my own “garden”. Where in my life have I neglected to allow Jesus to work? What do I hold onto that doesn’t bear fruit in my life? Where do I need to repent? This season of Lent is a great reminder of how much we need Jesus - his love, his help, his presence - in our lives. This week I encourage you to spend time in silence with Jesus, allow him to tend to your “garden” and reveal where his help is needed.
