I hope everyone is as excited as I am to see our new Crucifix! It's such a fulfilling experience to have an image of Christ that truly draws us into God's act of Salvation! With just a few 'light' changes still in progress, we have completed the original proposal for enhancing our worship space (aka Nave). Many people have commented on how “different the space feels.” Whether you use the word warmth or vibe (etc.), there certainly is something different. It may help us to know that the truest definition of the word holy is separate or set apart. The goal really is to be different from the outside world and set apart from the ordinary. This doesn’t mean that God isn’t present in our ordinary lives; instead, when we gather at Mass and receive Christ in the Eucharist, we are encountering Him in a way that can only be experienced here (until Heaven, at least).
Everything at Mass is meant to be set apart, different, and holy, including us: so, in addition to the changes to the Nave, what changes should we make in ourselves?
