Although it's difficult for me to believe, the summer is almost over! While St. Pius X School will soon be filled with children once again, the basement of Fr. Seda's rectory will stand empty. As many of you know, this last weekend was my last at St. Pius X and I too have to return to school at Mundelein Seminary in the north-west Chicago suburbs.
I am truly grateful to have been assigned to St. Pius X and have enjoyed both my time at the parish and as a chaplain at Mercy Medical Center. This time has enabled me to see some of the complex theological ideas that we learn in class embodied on the level of life and has equipped me to be ever more prepared for the many aspects of priesthood that I look forward to.
Just as I am amazed that it's time for me to leave St. Pius, I am just as amazed that I only have two years left until priesthood ordination. I want to thank all of you for being able to accompany me on that journey while I've been assigned here for the summer. Please continue to pray for me and for more vocations! In Christ, Peter Binder Seminarian
