In the Pius Thought this week, I do not have a spiritual message or a special action for you to complete or contemplate; I have a thank you. I have been here a few months now and yes; I still have a long way to go meeting most of you but the welcome I have already received has been amazing. Many of you have taken my invitation and stopped in to introduce yourself and it has been amazing learning about everyone (and their shoe sizes…. Thanks Father). But even more so than that, I am amazed by the sense of family and community we have here. The amount of giving you each give selflessly, and the number of hours you spend helping keep our church and events going strong. I recently read in a book that “if you can’t go home; you go to your church” because that is where you feel safe. It is your transcendent place for mind and body. You all as a parish have made this feel like a second home to me and my family and for that I thank you. You have opened your arms to us, and we are grateful. I look forward to getting to know more of you in the days ahead and sharing even more of the special spirit that we have here at St. Pius X.
