It's particularly heartening to see St. Pius X Parish members like Pat Schmitt and Terri Christoffersen actively involved in securing the grant to bridge the funding gap that left WRAP in a delicate situation. The dedication of volunteers and the support of organizations like St. Pius X Parish play a crucial role in sustaining important community programs.
This grant not only ensures the immediate continuity of WRAP's services but also provides them with the opportunity to explore new funding avenues for the future.
The positive impact of the Jessie Ball duPont Foundation in our community, particularly in supporting St. Pius X Parish Social Justice and Outreach and its initiatives to partner with local services that play a crucial role in addressing social challenges and improving the lives of those in need. In 2022, St. Pius X Parish members were able to secure another grant from Jessie Ball duPont to help Willis Dady open Hector's Place Day Center, which serves the homeless with washer and dryer facilities, private showers, as well as a safe environment to escape the elements. In 2007, the Jessie Ball duPont provided a $100,000 grant to St. Pius X for flood needs. St. Pius X provided washers and dryers to flood victums from this grant.
This kind of community involvement and support not only meets immediate needs but also creates lasting impacts, providing essential services and resources to those facing difficult circumstances. It's a testament to the power of collective efforts in creating a better, more compassionate society, living up to our mission: Together, we know, love, and serve Christ.
